At 12.51 p.m. on Tuesday 22 February 2011, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake caused severe damage in Christchurch and Lyttelton, killing 185 people and injuring several thousand. The iconic cathedral in Christchurch was greatly damaged. Many considered the heart of the city was lost.
It's taken me over 6 years to address the emotional trauma of this event, Concrete and steel can replace the lost buildings but they cannot replace my friends who lost their lives. They will remain in my memory forever.
